Thumbs up seeds and samplings of Pterocarpus santalinus (Red Sandeer, Ractachandan)

Pterocarpus santalinus Red Sanders or Red Sandalwood; Rakta chandana) is a species of Pterocarpus native to India. It is a light-demanding small tree growing to 8 m tall with a trunk 50–150 cm diameter. It is fast-growing when young, reaching 5 m tall in three years even on degraded soil.

It is a holy tree for Hindus and has been used for various preposes having greater value than teak wood. It had been planted over a decades in South-india for its valuable wood. We have to expand its boundary and start cultivation of it to grow our economy.

Hence we are making available seeds and free guidance for cultivators about its plantation.

    Keep Growing your economy.......
