Compassion through Farming

Hi eveyone,
We are a charitable Trust working among the leprosy affected community. At present we are working with the leprosy community in Karnataka, particularlly with the residents of the Gandhi leprosy Colony in Gulbarga.
We want these people to be a self sufficent community, free from the evils of begging for a living. The Karuna project is at present doing its best to uplift these people through medical care, education and skills training. All this requires much finance. Karuna has bought 10 acres of agricultural land with the sole purpose of helping these people. Some of the youth from these leprosy colonies will be given employment on this land and the profit from the farming project we want to start will fund some of the activities/proggrammes required for the upliftment fo this community.
We want to do Jatropha plantation on 6 acres and goat farming on 4 acres.
Any advise on this will be welcome.

good job by karuna project,well done .sir,i would like you to suggest ,the meat goat farming, herbal plant farmings,honey bees, teak wood trees etc.
sir, u can plant the teak wood trees on the out skirts of ur 10 acre land which will be benefitted after 4 to 5 yrs with good money ,the meat goats r in full demand,send urs some young mens to take theFREE training (two days) in the state husbandry dept, the goats give birth almost 3 times in 2 yrs,mainly twins. grow green grass which will be helpful,no expenses on food and fodder of the goats,then u can go for the money minting herbal plants ,nowadays ,its in international demand, and the honey bees will make honey ,again which will generate more money, and all this are not expensive investments,but good in demand for always,which will be useful for your KARUNA PROJECT. this 10 acres will be enought for all this activities. for MORE DETAILS PLZ LOG TO THIS FORUM AND ASK FOR THE GEN HELP IN THE QUESTION & ANSWERS COLUMN, REGARDING THE DEMANDED HERBAL PLANTS,THE WELL EXPERIENCED ,MR KIRTI, AEROMENIA AND SOME OTHER HELPFUL SENIOR MEMBERS WILL SURELY GIVE THEIR PRECIOUS ADVICE ON THIS TOPIC.
