HERE IS SOME INFORMATION OF RABBIT REARING
High reproduction rate : 4 times a year (Pregnancy period is only 30-32 days)


BREEDS
The famous breeds are
Angora – mainly for wool than meat

New Zealand White – Meat and wool (fur)

Grey Giant - Meat and wool (fur)

White Giant - Meat

Soviet chinchilla - Meat and wool (fur)

Dutch - Meat

Black brown – Meat and wool (fur)

HOUSING / REARING SHEDS:
Temperature between 150C to 400C and Humidity between 55 to 65%

Hill areas – both Angora and meat rabbits

Plain areas – Meat rabbits only

Cage system: Single or two tier systems

Single tier: Cages are placed on wooden or metal stand.

Two tier : Single rack with trays placed between the cages

Like any other farm animals, rabbit should be lifted by neck and never be lifted by its ears. When carrying it needs to be supported from the bottom.
