In India, particularly in Indian Railways and more patricularly in Southern Railway Locomotive Workshop at Chennai city, they are having a mini plant for producing BioDiesel Oil from Jatropha Seeds, Pungam Seeds and used vegetable oils. Their cost per litre is Rs. 33 INR, that is to say Rs. 33,000 per Metric Ton/Kilo Litre (US$840 per MT/KL). The Railways are the highly salaried corporate organised sector. But, in small scale industry, they can make the BioDiesel oil Rs.26 to Rs. 30 in India. Then how could it be possible for an Indian Importer for importing BioDiesel for 1000 to 1100 USD per MT. It so, it is a total suicide!!! Aware, Indian produced BioDiesel are cheaper and better than those produced in Western/American countries.
